ACTIVITIES SPONSORED BY FIAME
Cultural Events
FIAME has sponsored and co-sponsored theater, opera, folk music and dance with themes of special relevance to the Italian American Community. We have encouraged budding playwrights and acting companies with moral and financial support when possible. Our annual awards dinner dance, Columbus Day Celebration and our traditional Epiphany Dinner are just a few noteworthy activities.
Meetings
FIAME plans special events featuring outstanding Italian Americans from the world of education, the arts, literature, politics and other fields of interest to our membership. FIAME has also organized major educational conferences at prestigious metropolitan area universities.
Charitable Efforts
FIAME is especially committed to nurturing local, non-profit charitable institutions. Some outstanding programs and groups we have recognized are: Sister Servants of Mary, Providence Rest Nursing Home, Belmont Library, POTS (Parts of the Solution) SWAN (Select Women’s Assistance Network) and Midnight Run to name a few.
Scholarships
FIAME assists Italian-American high school students who excel scholastically and who demonstrate Italian American pride in their everyday life with college scholarships. The proceeds from our annual dinner dance journal provide the funds for the scholarships.
